Melissa Marvin, LMFT earned her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from National University in 2005, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a minor in Human Development from University of California, Davis in order to help the community. Melissa Marvin, LMFT earned her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from National University in 2005, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a minor in Human Development from University of California, Davis in order to help the community. She is presently affiliated with the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the Delta-Stockton Chapter of CAMFT. Melissa founded United Counseling Center (UCC) in 2010, and in 2013, UCC flourished into a full-time endeavor. Before then, Melissa was a Clinical Supervisor over Marriage and Family Therapy interns and trainees, as well as a Therapist providing services to individuals, couples, families, and groups for a non-profit organization. She has also been a Lead Therapist working with psychosis patients and a Therapist in a youth correctional facility. Prior to serving others in the field of Mental Health, she worked in the medical field, as an Executive Physical Coordinator, Certified Phlebotomest, Cardiovascular Technician, Vision Screening Technician, Office Assistant, Receptionist, Electrocardiology Technician, Medical Assistant, and Pharmacy Technician.
Melissa is an exceptional and accomplished leader, mentor, and educator, not only for her diverse clientele, but also within United Counseling Center family for her colleagues.
Stefanie Rios is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist LMFT, providing counseling services since 2014. Stefanie received her bachelor's degree in Psychology with minor in Spanish at the University of California, Merced and a master's degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of San Francisco. She has experience working with clients
Stefanie Rios is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist LMFT, providing counseling services since 2014. Stefanie received her bachelor's degree in Psychology with minor in Spanish at the University of California, Merced and a master's degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of San Francisco. She has experience working with clients struggling with anxiety, depressive mood, grief and loss, trauma, or relational issues among others. In her work with clients, she utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and family systems. Stefanie applies sand tray, play therapy, or art therapy in sessions as an avenue for self-expression and processing. As a therapist, she works towards establishing a space where you feel safe to share your story. Together in therapy you can find adaptive ways to manage issues or overwhelming feelings. As a Spanish-speaker, Stefanie takes pride on being able to offer counseling services in Spanish and English.
